Business Development Capture Manager

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Business Development Capture Manager to join our team. This role is critical in driving the growth and expansion of our government contracting portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in identifying and capturing new business opportunities within the DoD and other government sectors, with a deep understanding of the federal acquisition process and a network of contacts across various DoD agencies and industry partners. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Essential Duties: 

Business Development Strategy: 

  • Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies to identify and pursue new opportunities within the DoD market space. 

  • Conduct market research to identify emerging trends and opportunities. 

  • Conduct market research and analysis to stay up-to-date on industry trends and identify potential clients and partners 

    Capture Management: 

  • Lead capture efforts for opportunities, including developing capture plans, building and managing winning teams comprised of industry partners, and supporting the proposal development process. 

  • Oversee the development of win strategies, competitive analysis, and pricing strategies. 

  • Analyze and report on capture activities and results, including metrics such as win rate, revenue growth, and customer satisfaction. 

  • Ensure that all capture activities are compliant with company policies and procedures, and with all relevant laws and regulations. 

  • Develop and manage project plans and timelines to ensure that capture activities are completed efficiently and effectively. 

  • Manage and coordinate the capture process, including developing proposals and presentations. 

    Relationship Building: 

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers within government agencies, prime contractors, and industry partners to facilitate business growth and enhance our competitive position. 

  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and forums to enhance our visibility and establish thought leadership in the government contracting community. 

    Pipeline Management: 

  • Build and manage a robust pipeline of opportunities, tracking progress and ensuring alignment with company goals and priorities. 

  • Utilize CRM tools to track and report on business development activities and outcomes. 

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive capture strategy to identify and pursue new business opportunities that align with the company's goals and objectives. 

    Collaboration: 

  • Work closely with internal teams, including operations, technical, finance, and compliance, to ensure successful project execution and customer satisfaction. 

  • Coordinate with proposal managers to ensure seamless transition from capture to proposal development. 

  • Collaborate with the sales and business development teams to identify and pursue new business opportunities. 

    Thought Leadership: 

  • Stay abreast of industry developments and best practices to continuously improve capture management processes. 

  • Mentor and train junior business development staff. 

  • Provide coaching and guidance to capture team members to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge necessary to perform their jobs effectively. 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Required Skills:  

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.  

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

  • Strong skills in strategic planning, including developing and implementing comprehensive capture strategies. 

  • Excellent customer relationship management skills, including negotiating contracts and terms. 

  • Proven experience in project management, including developing and managing project plans and timelines. 

  • Strong skills in sales, including identifying and pursuing new business opportunities. 

  • Experience in business development, including identifying and pursuing new business opportunities. 

  • Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in winning large-scale contracts and driving revenue growth in a competitive environment. 

  • Knowledge: Deep understanding of the federal acquisition process, including FAR, DFARS, and other relevant regulations. 

  • Network: Established network of contacts within government agencies, prime contractors, and industry partners. 

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future. 

Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field. Master’s Degree preferred. 

  • 10 years or more of experience in business development and capture management within the government contracting industry, with a strong focus on federal markets.  

  • Proven experience leading and managing capture teams.
